"Sally Hursey weaves heart and soul into the beautiful, true tale of shelter-dog, Molly, and her journey to becoming an elite member of the K9s for Warriors program. Molly's unbridled loyalty and tender tenacity toward those who train her and love her will grab your heart and won't let go. Though I've read many books about therapy dogs and service dogs, Molly's story rises to the top of my 'favorites' pile. Bravo, Mrs. Hursey—Molly to the Rescue will be on my 'to give' list for years to come."
—Donna Earnhardt, Being Frank (Flashlight Press, 2012)
"Thank you, Sally, for giving Molly a voice and shining a light on what these remarkable animals can do for a veteran."
—Service Animal Project
Molly to the Rescue is the true story of a local shelter-dog who becomes a member of the elite K9s for Warriors program. The story follows her journey from life in a shelter to the moment she meets her wounded warrior at K9s for Warriors. Molly's story demonstrates the healing power a dog can have in a veteran's life.
Sally Hursey promised herself that she would write a children's book when she retired. Since she's had dogs all her life, it seemed natural to write about them. Molly to the Rescue is her first book.
