Hats Off!

Good news from our members!

The North Carolina Writers' Network is happy to announce good news from our members. If you have had a piece published, won a prize in a competition, or received an award or honor for your writing, let us know and we'll post the news here. Hats Off! to Gina Malone whose short story "Lullaby" claimed Second Place in the 2016-2017 Ruth Moose Flash Fiction Contest, sponsored by the Charlotte Writers' Club. Gina won $75. The final judge was Bryn Chancellor.


Hats Off! to Maria Elena Alonso-Sierra whose new short-story collection, The Fish Tank: and Other Stories, was featured on the Carried in Waves podcast at the University of Cork, Ireland. The title story, based on the experiences of the Cuban diaspora, was a finalist in 2016.


Hats Off! to Margaret A. Harrell, author of the Keep This Quiet! series. She was interviewed by Julie Coraccio for Awaken Your Brilliance, episode "Using Dreams to Clear Clutter." Margaret also spoke with Ayrial Talk Time founder Victoria Weston about the value of meditation, in three parts.
