How did this quote get on The Oprah Show?
As women, when we release our conception
of what writing "should" be, and simply write,
we express our true selves.
Creative writing—memoir, fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction—evolves naturally and fearlessly
out of these explorations.
Why ClarityWorks classes and retreats shine —
- Small groups of 12 or fewer women
- Peggy is an accessible leader who participates fully with students
- Inspiration and support from Peggy and group members
- Individual attention to your writing
- Classes and retreats structured to allow both group interaction and time to write
- Concrete results—a full notebook of ideas, memories, prompts, and writing tips as well as the choice to work on a specific project
As women, we yearn for a different approach to writing. For when a woman feels supported and nurtured in a fearless approach to her writing, she can apply fearlessness to anything in her life.
Through ClarityWorks' writing classes, workshops, and writing retreats, each writer practices fearlessness, finding strength within her vulnerability. This feminine approach to the creative process dives deep into the heart of what matters to the writer. As we engage in this creative play, we unearth our voice as writers and as women.
Fearlessness happens effortlessly as we share our writing and our stories in the group. Our stories lead us into discovery of the deepest part of ourselves and become the avenue for learning from one another. To read more about creative writing and fear, click here.
Once we have spoken our truth, we can, if we wish, shape the product—novel, short story, memoir, poem, essay—with our school-learned tools. The work we have created in written form then reflects the complexity and fullness of our human experience.
