Hats Off! to Marjorie Hudson, whose short-story collection Accidental Birds of the Carolinas (Press 53, 2011) has been selected for Honorable Mention in the Pen/Hemingway Award. The judges this year were Andre Dubus, III, Sigrid Nunez, and Edith Perlman. The selection comes with a Ucross Foundation residency, a stipend, and invitation to an awards ceremony in Boston.

Hats Off! to Sandra Ervin Adams, who won an Honorable Mention for her poem "Mother's Ring" in the Nostalgia Press 2013 poetry competition. Her poem will be published in HEART #9, expected around June 2013. |
