Hats Off! to Tim Bullard, whose first book, Haunted Watauga County, was referred to in a recent Associate Press article by national correspondent Allen G. Breed. The piece was on the renovations at Green Park Inn in Blowing Rock. The AP was picked up by many U.S. newspapers including The Californian, The Burlington Times-News, Fox News, The Ventura County Star, Florida Today, the San Francisco Chronicle and others.

Hats Off! to Jackson County's Gary Carden, who will receive the North Carolina Literature Award for 2012 at the Governor's Mansion in Raleigh on October 30. There will be a celebration following the Awards Ceremony at the North Carolina Museum of History. |
