Hats Off! to Jan B. Parker, who won Second Place (Prose) in the Pamlico Writers Competition sponsored by the Beaufort County Arts Council. The reception, conference, and awards ceremony were all lovely and highly professional events in a beautiful venue in Washington, NC, Jan's childhood home. Her winning entry included the first chapter of her current novel-in-progress, working title: EmLee. |

Hats Off! to Joseph Cavano, whose controversial short story “Donors” has been selected for publication in the May issue of North Atlantic Review. His newest, as of yet untitled short-story collection, has already attracted the attention of several publishers who have inquired about publishing it sometime this year. |
