A fun-filled book signing event to introduce Twelve Notables in Western North Carolina (400-pages/134-photos) by Jack J. Prather will be held at Grateful Steps Foundation bookstore. Joe Epley, global public relations leader and author of A Passel of Hate about the Revolutionary War battle for King's Mountain that took place near his Tryon home, will also sign his book. Other guests include Dr. Olson Huff, David Holt, Doug Orr, and Glenis Redmond. The informal event is open to the public, and there is ample parking on S. Lexington near Grateful Steps.

Hat's Off!

 

Hats Off! to Jackson County's Gary Carden, who will receive the North Carolina Literature Award for 2012 at the Governor's Mansion in Raleigh on October 30. There will be a celebration following the Awards Ceremony at the North Carolina Museum of History.
