Acclaimed author and journalist Bob Reiss will give a reading of his work. His most recent nonfiction work, The Eskimo and the Oil Man, was released in May 2012 and is about the battle over offshore oil taking place in the Arctic. Reiss is the author of three nonfiction books and 14 novels, including Washington Post bestseller The Last Spy and European bestseller Black Monday. He has also worked as a Chicago Tribune reporter and a correspondent for Outside Magazine. His writing has appeared in The Washington Post Magazine, Smithsonian, Parade, Rolling Stone and other national publications. Reiss earned a master of fine arts from the University of Oregon and a bachelor’s in journalism from Northwestern University. He taught fiction writing at the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference for seven years and has been a writer in residence at the University of North Carolina Wilmington four times.
