This month meet Hillsborough author and workshop/retreat facilitator Nancy Peacock who will discuss her book of essays, A Broom of One’s Own. From Lee Smith: "Nancy Peacock has written an instant classic, filled with wisdom, humor and insight. Her radical observations on class, gender, and literature make this one of the most original and valuable books about writing ever published." Nancy will also lead a writing prompt—her prompt writing workshops are well-known throughout the Triangle and beyond (every 2nd Sat from 10-noon at Flyleaf Books in Chapel Hill—open to the public). After the discussion, get to know Nancy at lunch. Hosted by Alice Osborn.

Location: Center for Excellence, 3803‐B Computer Dr. - Ste. 106 (Raleigh)

Hat's Off!

Hats Off! to Marjorie Hudson, who will be a Writer in Residence at Ucross Retreat in Wyoming during the month of October 2012, where she is working on a new novel. The Ucross Fellowship was awarded by PEN-New England and the Hemingway Foundation, as part of this year’s PEN/Hemingway recognition for her short story collection Accidental Birds of the Carolinas.
