Wednesday, November 14 2012, 6:00pm - 7:00pm by  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Cost: $15 ($5 for students)
The Salisbury Writers and Artists Guild, Inc. (SWAG) announces its first writing workshop, Take TEN! A Workshop for Writing the 10-Minute Play, with creative and professional writers Jenny Hubbard and Katie Scarvey. Lee Street Theatre, in Downtown Salisbury, North Carolina, is currently requesting submissions for their 5th Annual Ten-Minute Play Festival, comically themed “Hotel 6”, and this playwriting workshop is designed to generate new and exciting material, while discussing the structure and methods of the short form of the ten-minute play. Participants will leave the workshop with a viable template to write their ten-minute play and prepare it for submission to Lee Street Theatre. Ms. Hubbard is a novelist and playwright with a practiced knowledge of the ten-minute play genre, and Ms. Scarvey is a professional writer in the process of learning to write ten-minute plays. Both have had their plays produced for the Lee Street Ten-Minute Play Festival.

Location: Literary Bookpost, 110 S. Main St. (Salisbury)

Hat's Off!

Hats Off! to Tamra Wilson, who has had an excellent month. First, her short story “December Bride” appears in Marco Polo Arts Magazine. Not only that, but her story "The Blue Hat" took Second Place in the 2013 Charlotte Writers' Club Children's Short Story Contest.
