Tony Brown of Greenville has received an "Honorable Mention" in the "Children's/Young Adult Fiction" category of Writers' Digest's 78th Writing Competition for his short story, The Quest. In September his short story, The New Wall on Rue de la Maison was an "Honorable Mention" in Writers' Journal's
"Write-to-Win" contest. Brown's Seven Numbers earlier took first place in Art Forum Magazine. He is a former writer for the Tarboro Daily Southerner and The Sun-Journal of New Bern.
