Hats off to Joseph Cavano, whose flash fiction piece, “Tuesday Evening,” appears in the Fall issue of the print magazine, Thumbnail. Cavano, a finalist in both the Doris Betts and the Elizabeth Simpson Smith contest this year, has crafted a story that movingly portrays the impossibility of protecting the young from what Life has planned for them.
