The Cold Heart of the World by Wilson Roberts ISBNs: Hardcover: 978-0977304004 Paperback: 978-1604593624
The Cold Dark Heart of the World is a supernatural thriller which draws upon traditional mountain folktales for inspiration. Ben Calloway, one of the two central characters, is based on Ray Hicks, the celebrated Beech Mountain, North Carolina storyteller. Set on Beech Mountain and on the Jersey shore, it tells the story of an evil entity who must be found and destroyed. Roberts regards it as an entertainment, as opposed to Serpents and Incident in which he had a more serious intent. He is currently working on the final draft of Shadows and Acts, a novel about the 19th Century Theater.
