Randall Jarrell Poetry Competition

Postmark deadline: January 31 (annual)

The Randall Jarrell Poetry Competition accepts one poem submissions. The contest awards the winner publication in The Crucible literary journal and $200. Questions may be directed to Tony Abbott via email at toabbott@davidson.edu.

Eligibility and Guidelines

1. The competition is open to any writer who is a legal resident of North Carolina or a member of the NC Writers Network.
2. Submissions should be one poem only (40 line limit).
3. Poem must be typed (single-spaced) and stapled in the left-hand corner.
4. Names should not appear on the poem.
5. Include a separate cover sheet with name, address, phone number(s) and poem title.
6. Poem will not be returned. Include a SASE for a list of winners.
7. An entry fee must accompany the poem. Multiple submissions are accepted, one poem per entry fee: $10/NCWN members, $15/non-members (You may pay member entry fee if you join NCWN with your submission.)

The winner is announced in May.
