Conferences
The Network sponsors two conferences each year -- a Spring Conference
in late May and and a Fall Conference in late October or early November.
These conferences bring together hundreds of writers for workshops, readings,
networking, and lively discussion.
- Spring Conference
-
Spring Conference always convenes for one Saturday in the Triangle area.
There are morning and afternoon workshops as well as an on-site lunch with
readings, performances, vendors, a bookstore, and the exchange of ideas.
Other features include open mic sessions and one-on-one manuscript
evaluations
- Fall Conference
-
Fall Conference attracts hundreds of writers from around the country and
provides a weekend full of activities that include lunch and dinner banquets
with readings, keynotes, tracks in several genres, a meet and greet
cocktail party with New York editors and agents, open mic sessions for
participants, entertainment, a bookstore, and the opportunity for
one-on-one manuscript critiques with New York editors or agents. Conference
faculty include professional writers from North Carolina and beyond. Held
every year in a major hotel, the conference rotates annually, cycling
through Asheville, Charlotte, Raleigh/Durham, and Wilmington.
