HOW TO WRITE THE VERY SHORT SHORT STORY, with Ruth Moose
A Day-Long Workshop
- Saturday, January 8, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm (7 hours of instruction)
- Meets at the Network Library and Resource Center in Chapel Hill
- Bring food for a working lunch -- the workshop does not break for lunch
- $85 Network members / $105 non-members
- Limit: 12 participants
Can you write a complete short story, beginning, middle and "Holy
Cow" of an ending in 1500 words or fewer? The answer is yes! In this era
of McPaper, News Briefs, Bits, Bytes and email, the form of the short
story is keeping pace with the times. It's gotten shorter and shorter
and shorter. This hands-on workshop will include examples, in-class
writing exercises, and a discussion about short short fiction contests
and markets. By the end of the day you will have completed drafts of at
least two short shorts.
