Cost: $5 Fred Chappell, former NC Poet Laureate and renowned novelist, will give a talk at The Fountainhead Bookstore. Included among the many prizes awarded to Chappell in his long and illustrious career are: Prix de Meilleur des Livres Etrangers of the Academie Francaise (for Dagon, which is currently in stock); Sir Walter Raleigh Prize; Aiken Taylor Award in Poetry, and many more. An alumnus of Duke University, Mr. Chappell is also a retired Professor of UNC-Greensboro, where author Robert Morgan was one of his many students. This speaking engagement is a rescheduling of the one that had been intended for October, where events beyond control (see website) interfered. |
