Pre-Conference “Tech Check” for Attendees!

Got questions? We got you covered. (c. Stanley Dankoski)

The North Carolina Writers’ Network will host our first-ever Cabin Fever Conference this week, April 16-18, entirely online.

(Registration is open.)

The response has been great so far, but we realize not everyone might feel comfortable with the idea of attending classes through the internet.

Plenty of folks have never tried “online learning.” Writers may have questions and concerns about what kind of technology is required; how hard it will be to connect; and whether or not the whole, infernal enterprise is even worth the hassle!

Well, we’re here to tell you that it absolutely could be, and we’re here to help make it as easy as possible on you.

On Wednesday, April 15, NCWN staff will invite conference registrants to test our teaching platform by logging on to a virtual “Tech Check.” For ninety minutes that day, staff will be on-hand to show attendees features of Zoom, which we use for our online classes; answer questions; test our mics and webcams; and make sure everything is running smoothly so that we have a flawless conference experience.

The link for the Tech Check will be sent to registrants later this week.

It’s also worth noting that if you don’t like the idea of using a mic and webcam, or simply don’t have the equipment, all classes can be attended by dialing-in using just a regular old telephone line!

Registration for the Cabin Fever Conference 2020 closes Thursday, April 16, at 9:00 am. Register now!
