Brenda Kay Ledford is a seventh-generational native of Clay County, NC. She's a retired educator and award-winning writer. Ledford has received the Paul Green Multimedia Award from NC Society of Historians a dozen times for her blogs, books, and collecting oral history on Southern Appalachia. She received the Marquis Who's Who in America's Lifetime Achievement Award for writing in 2019. Ledford is a member of North Carolina Writer's Network, Georgia Poetry Society, and listed in "A Directory of American Poets and Fiction Writers" and "North Carolina Literary Trail."
