A Recipe for Story Building: Food, Culture, & Characterization (Ages 16 + up)
Native writer and environmental activist Winona LaDuke once wrote, “Food has a culture. It has a history. It has a story. It has relationships.” In this class, you will explore several ways to write about food to enrich the stories you tell and build deeper cultural and emotional relationships with your characters. Write and share in an encouraging workshop environment. For each class, you will need to bring a notebook and writing utensil or a laptop. All reading materials will be provided.
