July 30 @ 8:00 am - August 6 @ 5:00 pm

During this intimate two-Sunday workshop, Los Angeles-based writer Amy Paturel will break down the reported essay and you’ll have the opportunity to analyze effective reported essays and share your own work. The first Sunday will focus on three things: 1. dissecting three reported essays, 2. how to craft a reported essay pitch, and 3. brainstorming your essay ideas in a low-stakes environment. The second Sunday you’ll workshop your pitches live. Attendees are limited to 8.

For nearly two decades, she has covered everything from food to sex—and what results from both: obesity and parenting. But her expertise lies in health and nutrition, and she has a knack for translating complex medical information into easy-to-digest language.

You’ll find her byline in niche publications, anthologies and popular newsstand magazines, including AARP, Good Housekeeping, Real Simple, Parents, Reader’s Digest and O, The Oprah Magazine. She also regularly write for websites including WebMD.com and BabyCenter.com.
