Food Writing from the Kitchen–Writing food in Poetry, Fiction, Non-Fiction

September 7 @ 2:00 pm - September 28 @ 4:00 pm

Food, Glorious Food—Writing from the Kitchen!
For those of you who like to hear and write about food, there is a wonderful opportunity to take a class for little or no money—it’s a pay-what-you-will model, for the North Dakota Humanities –at 2-4 EDT on the four Thursdays in September. NO travel is necessary—it’s a zoom class.

As the teacher, I come prepared having experience (and winning awards) writing about food in newspaper articles, essays, poems, and using it to enrich ekphrastic writing, memoir, travel writing, fiction, and novels. All of these genres will be discussed in the class and there will be lots of exercises in creating pieces of varying types (to stretch your creativity) and lengths and ideas on where to submit— I’ve taught portions of this class as short workshops to rave reviews on the information and on inspiration.

I’ve given portions of this as single workshops, for pay, for free, and now have expanded and combined my material into this four-week class, giving the students time to think over what they learned or did in the first class and ask questions about it the next time—would love to see many of your shining faces on my screen.

Online (zoom class–4 weeks)
