Phoebe will talk about her investigative journalism that led to the exoneration of a wrongful conviction case in Winston-Salem, detailed in her book Beyond Innocence: The Life Sentence of Darryl Hunt.
David will discuss his research and writing process around the Civil War’s African Brigade in Union-controlled Outer Banks, featured in his novel Black Cloud Rising.
