Charlotte Lit: Togetherness: Writing for Those Touched by Cancer and Other Serious Illness | Virtual

July 18, 2023 @ 8:00 am - August 8, 2023 @ 5:00 pm

In this four-week workshop designed for those struggling with cancer or other illnesses, we’ll work together with a series of open-ended prompts designed to allow stories to emerge from deep within our bodies and life experiences.

Writing, at its heart is a mystery. We don’t know why certain stories come to us, but come they do, even if only as a vague nudge. It’s important to pay attention to this nudge, and it’s especially crucial to do so when experiencing the toll of serious illness.

In this four-week workshop, we’ll work together with a series of open-ended prompts designed to allow stories to emerge from deep within our bodies and life experiences. As we write together, we’ll grow more comfortable engaging these stories and gradually find ourselves opening to what they have to tell us. Further, by witnessing the stories in a group of those similarly touched by serious illness, we’ll find them more powerful still.
