Hats Off! to Margaret A. Harrell who will speak about the "Top 10 Editing Mistakes to Avoid" at the third annual Triangle Book & Writer Conference at the McKimmon Center on NC State's campus on September 15, 12:00-1:00 pm. She also will be on the "Writing about the Life and Times of Hunter S. Thompson" panel along with Juan Thompson (author and Thompson's son), William McKeen (author and journalism chair at Boston University), and Tim Denevi (brand-new book: Freak Kingdom; also nonfiction editor of Literary Hub) at George Mason Univeristy, in mid-October. Finally, she will be one of three panelists at the Rand-McNally independent bookstore in Brooklyn, New York, in late November, upon the publication of Tim Denevi's Freak Kingdom, which she went over with her editing eye in manuscript. The event is part of the book tour of Denevi, who invited Margaret into the panel with him because she actually knew Hunter and he liked the way she wrote about him in the Keep This Quiet! volumes I & II.
