A+ Fellowship with A+ Schools N.C. Arts Council program

A+ Schools is a program of the N. C. Arts Council, and is the longest-running, arts-based, whole-school reform model in the nation. A+ Fellows are a cadre of professionals, including PK-12 classroom teachers, arts and other special area teachers, administrators, college professors and teaching artists from all disciplines, who provide professional development for educators. The training A+ Fellows provide to the A+ network includes strategies and resources in arts integration, experiential education, collaboration, and building a creative learning environment.

The registration/application process is open through January 31, and an evaluative selection process will take place February through April, after which we will invite 8-10 applicants to complete a one-year paid apprenticeship. A+ Fellows are independent contractors for A+ Schools of North Carolina.

For the 2023 Apprentice Fellows cohort, we are especially looking for people who can work during the school day.  We are also working hard to diversify our current group of A+ Fellows, and so we are specifically seeking applicants who reflect the people of our state.

To begin the process, interested individuals should visit our website to learn more and complete the Potential A+ Fellows Application/Registration Form, which is due by Tuesday, January 31. I’ve also attached a flyer with additional information. If you have any questions, please contact Jennifer Huggins, A+ Schools Program Coordinator, at jennifer.huggins@ncdcr.gov.
