Crook’s Corner Book Prize (Deadline: May 15)

Submissions are now being accepted for the Crook’s Corner Book Prize: $5000 for the best debut novel predominantly set in or pertaining to the American South (author may live anywhere).

The Prize is intended to encourage emerging writers, whether published by established publishing houses, small independent publishers, or self-published by the author. Books must be published between January 1, 2023, and May 15, 2024, and may be submitted by authors or publishers. Self-published books are eligible, but works available only as e-books are not. Young adult books are not eligible.

The submission deadline is May 15, 2024, and there is a $35 entry fee. This year’s judge is Megan Mayhew Bergman.
