#EnbyLife Journal: General Submissions

If you fall under the gender diverse and/or non-binary umbrella (e.g. genderqueer, gender fluid, agender, bigender, demigender, non-binary trans women and nonbinary trans men, gender questioning, just to name a few …) — we want your work!

Poetry including text and visual poems, essays, non-fiction, short stories, flash fiction and micro fiction, comics, artwork and illustrations, audio such as slam poems and music, RPGs and text-based games, digital zines, hybrid and experimental pieces, Twitch and Bitsy games/work, AND work that doesn’t fall neatly into any of these categories. If you think we can put it on a website, send it our way!

For written work, we’d prefer your submission to be under 5000 words. We also do not accept full manuscripts.

You’re welcome to submit multiple pieces to us, preferably up to 5. You can pick and choose what you send, for example, 3 poems and 2 artworks. You can also just sent us 1 or 2 pieces at a time. Follow your heart

About the Journal

#EnbyLife Journal is an online publication for non-binary and gender diverse creatives.

#EnbyLife started out as a zine, born in July 2016. It was a paper and digital zine of collected stories, poetry, comics and art by non-binary and gender diverse people from Meanjin (Brisbane) and so-called Australia.

Since its publication, #EnbyLife has been reborn and revived as an online journal, featuring non-binary and gender diverse artists and creatives worldwide.

In 2020, #EnbyLife journal paired with Baby Teeth Journal to create the queer digital zine Leaf Pile.

In a world where diverse and marginalised voices are so often not heard, considered or understood, #EnbyLife Journal aims to showcase the creative works of non-binary and gender diverse people, and pay them for their work.
