Jane Underwood Poetry Prize (Deadline: December 1)

The Writing Salon’s Jane Underwood Poetry Prize is open until December 1, 2023. Open to all poets, the prize is awarded for a single poem. This year’s final judge is Craig Santos Perez, author of six books of poetry, including from unincorporated territory [åmot], a current finalist for the 2023 National Book Award. 

The Prize has a submission fee of $15. The winner will receive $500, publication of the winning poem at The Writing Salon’s website, and a featured reading at The Writing Salon.

The Jane Underwood Poetry Prize was established to celebrate and memorialize Jane Underwood, the founder and long-time director of The Writing Salon, a creative writing school in the San Francisco Bay.
