Right to Write Award Applications (Deadline: February 29)

The Right to Write Awards, for BIPOC and Veteran writers, are open! These awards offer full tuition funding for Katey Schultz’s Monthly Mentorship writing program. This unforgettable 7-month journey helps authors integrate writing into their lives in sustainable ways, deepen their writing craft, and become their own best editors—for life. Through Monthly Mentorship writers experience the supportive, immersive feel of a residency from their own home.

You must be accepted into Monthly Mentorship before your application for the Right to Write Award can be considered, but you are welcome to apply for the program and the award in tandem. Applications are due on February 29, 2024.

Katey’s firm, yet gentle push, has propelled me towards strengthening my inner editor, nurturing my writing-self, and prioritizing my writing. She skillfully builds writing communities that support diversity and provide exposure to an abundance of writing professionals and literary creatives.

Lucille Freeman, Right to Write Award recipient

The community I’ve been woven into is invaluable and the knowledge that permeates through all of us is priceless. I highly recommend the program to anyone who wants to professionalize their writing practice and gain some real momentum in their perspectives of themselves and what they can produce in their writing.
