William Faulkner – William Wisdom Creative Writing Competition (Deadline: June 30)


The William Faulkner – William Wisdom Creative Writing Competition opened December 1, 2023, and due to delays in correspondence by the Society for technical reasons, the Faulkner Society has extended the previously announced deadline of May 15, 2024, to June 30, 2024, for all nine categories: novel, nonfiction book, novella, short story, novel-in-progress, essay, poetry collection, individual poem, and short story by a high school student.

Each entry must be composed of two parts: electronic and snail mail.

The electronic portion must consist of a contact sheet for the author, title page, one page (or less) summary, and the manuscript with no author identification, in this order. All documents must be in word.doc or docx or pdf format. No other formats will be accepted.

The snail mail portion must include a printed entry form and a check for the correct category fee (visit faulknersociety.org for complete guidelines). Snail mail must be sent to:

Winners will be presented at the Society’s fall festival, September 26-29, 2024.
