Quail Ridge Books & Music in Raleigh was selected by The Daily Beast as one of the top twenty-five independent bookstores in the United States. Follow this link to see a photo-essay of each bookstore, including national treasures such as Powell’s (Portland), City Lights (San Francisco), and The Strand (New York City).
Quail Ridge Books & Music was founded in 1984 by Nancy Olson. The store provides “a wide variety of carefully selected books, events, discussion groups, and town hall meetings.”
They also offer a “Reader’s Club,” where, for $15, a household receives discounts and other special privileges. (And for the music-lovers among you, their music department specializes in classical, jazz, and traditional music, presenting a diverse program of free concerts.)
