I heard from a couple of members yesterday who said they’d tried to reserve a room at the DoubleTree Hotel for the 2011 Fall Conference, but were told that the Network’s room block was full.
The room block was, indeed, full, but I spoke to the DoubleTree yesterday and they have agreed to add some more rooms to the block for both Friday (11/18) and Saturday (11/19) nights, and to extend the deadline for room-block reservations to October 31. That means that Fall Conference registrants have until the end of the month to reserve a room at the special reduced rate of $129 + tax – unless, of course, the block fills again.
To reserve a guest room at the DoubleTree, either call them at 828-274-1800 and tell them you’re with the North Carolina Writers’ Network, or visit our customized conference reservations site here.
Don’t forget that we also have a block of rooms at the Sleep Inn, which shares a parking lot with the DoubleTree, at a special rate of $99 per night, plus tax.
Please don’t wait to register for the 2011 Fall Conference, or to make sure you have a place to stay in Asheville. We look forward to seeing you next month.
