Link to the Network in Our State, and links to our state (and the Network) in the World Series

Our State magazine’s article about the Network’s 2010 Fall Conference is now available online.

This issue also features the “sportsman’s heritage in North Carolina,” by which they mean sports in the more genteel, old-fashioned sense: riding to the hounds, birding, fly-fishing, and hunting.

I’m not going to let that stop me, though, from using it to segue into baseball’s World Series and the North Carolinians playing therein.

More well-known is Raleigh native and Texas Rangers centerfielder Josh Hamilton, both for his remarkable talents and his inspiring story, but last night’s winning pitcher – Madison Bumgarner of the San Francisco Giants – is from Hudson . . . the hometown of Network communication director Lauren Holder Raab.
