Writers, you are invited to a party!
Literary Frivolity launches 2020 in celebration of the North Carolina literary community, readers, and PEN America members and supporters on Sunday, February 23, at The Pinhook in Durham, 6:30-8:30 pm. Come toast the new year with NC writers, readers, and musical guest Quilla.
The evening will feature a curated story slam with spoken word poet, Dasan Ahanu; INDY Week Editor, Jeffrey Billman; David Potorti from the NC Arts Council; Raleigh-based writer, Kristin Tajili; and the NC Writers’ Network 2020 Sally Buckner recipient, Jasmine Kumalah. The evening will close with a dance party.
Literary Frivolity will also celebrate the launch of PEN America’s new Piedmont Region chapter. Stop by to learn more about PEN America Piedmont Region and to meet Chapter Leader Deonna Kelli Sayed; Director of Membership Rebecca Werner; and National Outreach Coordinator Elly Brinkley.
