First off, Lenoir-Rhyne University has decided to make their Visiting Writer’s Series available online. Their 32nd year of programming continues with Alex Kotlowitz, author of An American Summer: Love and Death in Chicago, on Thursday, November 5, at 7:00 pm. (Register here.)
Second, we thought this was an excellent time to remind you that your North Carolina Writers’ Network membership offers discounts on LRU’s graduate programs including the Master of Arts in Writing! LRU is working hard to keep graduate school accessible:
-
- Access to select current streaming classes for free look/experience.
- Waived standardized test (GRE) requirement for most programs.
- Free streaming practice and Canvas (learning platform) preview
- Live support sessions (password: grad) for anyone interested in talking to a real person about the possibility of graduate school Monday – Thursday, 1:30 pm-4:30 pm.
- Online and/or phone contact with professors in advance for consulting and advising.
- Don’t forget your LR Partners discount & application fee waived!
The “PARTNER” discount also applies to the LR Equity & Diversity Institute courses with concentrations in equitable leadership, education business, and technology practices. Graduate students can take class in-person on the Asheville campus or fully online.
LRU also offers Virtual Information Sessions by program of interest with access to instructors and enrollment managers. It’s still a great time to look at graduate school for people who are thinking about their careers long-term.
