Three members and longtime friends of the N.C. Writers’ Network made news over the weekend:
The Pilot of Southern Pines celebrated The Country Bookshop as “an important part of the fabric of our community.” The Country Bookshop has been in business for 58 years, and, incidentally, will again handle book sales at the North Carolina Literary Hall of Fame’s 2010 induction ceremony on Sunday, October 17.
James Cheatham, a former member of the Network’s board of trustees, has a new book out called Forty Years at the Bar. Metro Magazine profiled the book and its author.
Last but not hardly least, Ron Rash’s short story collection, Burning Bright, has won the world’s richest – and one of its most prestigious – awards for the short story form.
Congratulations, one and all.
