The Poetry Council of North Carolina, now in its 58th year, will hold its annual Poetry Day on Saturday, October 16, at Catawba College in Salisbury. You can read Scott Owens’s “Musings” on Poetry Day here.
The next day (Sunday, October 17) will see the 2010 induction ceremony for the North Carolina Literary Hall of Fame in Southern Pines, slightly to Salisbury’s east. You could leave Poetry Day, drive halfway to Southern Pines, camp overnight in the Uwharries, then come see W. J. Cash, Allan Gurganus, Robert Morgan, Walter Hines Page, and Samm-Art Williams join North Carolina’s finest writers in the NCLHOF.
