Like pretty much each and every one of our plans between now and Monday, this event is no doubt up in the air a bit depending on the severity of the approaching winter storm, but, if you’re around the Triad on Saturday (and let’s face it, by Saturday, you’ll most likely be ready to get the heck out of the house!), Poetry Out Loud is scheduled to host their semifinals and finals at Triad Stage in Greensboro.
The program begins at 10:30 am.
Poetry Out Loud encourages students to learn about great poetry through memorization and recitation. Through the program, students can master public speaking skills, increase reading comprehension scores, build self-confidence and learn about their literary heritage. Poetry Out Loud has inspired thousands of high school students to discover and develop deep, personal relationships with great classic and contemporary poetry.
This program is run by the North Carolina Arts Council in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation.

Check this website, and this one, before heading out, just to make sure the event is stil on.
Hopefully, we’ll see you Saturday.
Until then, stay warm, stay dry, stay inside and read some poetry. As if we needed an excuse!
