First, from the Network:
The 2011 Rose Post Creative Nonfiction Competition is now accepting submissions. Jay Varner is this year’s judge.
The 2011 Thomas Wolfe Fiction Prize will begin accepting submissions on Wednesday, December 1. Martin Clark is this year’s judge.
I know it’s been a long, long while, but we finally have a new Writing the New South post up on our website, and I do believe the wait was worth it. We have a backlog of WNS submissions to get through, so look for more posts in the near future.
Our friends over in NetWest country have re-designed their blog, and have invited everyone – even us flatlanders – to check it out. Congratulations, by the way, to Rosemary Royston, who is the new Program Coordinator for NetWest.
Finally, author and editor Jim Harrington has started a blog series called “Six Questions For . . .”, in which he asks editors (including NCWN Charlotte Metro regional rep Jessie Carty) to list “in excruciating detail” what they’re looking for in submissions. It’s a good concept, and well worth checking out.
