Young People’s Litrature: Inside Out & Back Again by Thanhha Lai (published by Harper, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers)

Poetry: Head Off & Split by Nikky Finney (published by TriQuarterly, an imprint of Northwestern University Press)

Nonfiction: The Swerve: How the World Became Modern by Stephen Greenblatt (published by WW Norton & Company)

Fiction: Salvage the Bones by Jesmyn Ward (published by Bloomsbury USA)

A Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters was given to John Ashberry, while Mitchell Kaplan received the Literarian Award for Outstanding Service to the American Literary Community.
