Hats Off to Deb Bowen!

Deb Bowen's creative nonfiction piece, "Takin' Up a Poundin," was published December 3, 2023 in Salvation South.

Hats Off to Suzanne Cottrell!

Suzanne Cottrell's poem “Delicate Bubbles” will be published in Mingled Voices 8. Her poems “Frozen Rapture” and “Ice Storm” will appear in the 2023 Winter Avocet. Quillkeepers Press published her flash fiction story, “Life’s Storms,” and four poems in its Grateful Anthology. Her poem, “Parched,” appeared in The San Antonio Review.

Hats Off to Stephen C. Pollock!

Stephen C. Pollock's debut poetry collection Exits received the Gold Medal in the poetry category of the Readers' Favorite 2023 International Book Awards.

Hats Off to Mimi Herman!

The Kudzu Queen by Mimi Herman was chosen as the Best Fiction Book in the Queen City Nerve Arts & Entertainment “Best of the Nest 2023” Critics’ Pick!

Hats Off to Matthew Johnson!

Matthew Johnson's poem, "Mammy Does the Morning Chores," which was published in The Decolonial Passage, was recently nominated for the Pushcart Prize Anthology.

Hats Off to Patricia Joslin!

Patricia Joslin's ekphrastic poem "Questions for the Artist" was published in the December issue of GROUND Journal. GROUND is an annual poetry journal of object-inspired ekphrasis.

Hats Off to Cathy Rossi Warner!

Cathy's nonfiction essay "Not in the Motherhood Club" was recently published in Midstory Magazine under pen name Catherine Rossi. The article shares her experience as a mid-life woman who never had children and now finds herself a grandmother.

Hats Off to Stacy Wentworth!

Stacy Wentworth wrote the foreword for The Long COVID Reader which was released in November 2023. This collection of essays and poetry provides a humanized view of chronic illness while offering a poignant reminder of the millions of people with long COVID.

Hats Off to Lucinda Trew!

Lucinda Trew’s poem "Eve knee-deep in kumquats in the garden of temptation" received first-place recognition in Kakalak’s 2023 contest. The anthology will also feature the poem "all the words swallowed by girls." Her poem "the cosmos was calm that day" appears in Antithesis Journal. Her essay "What I Learned About Love, Romance and Clowning Around Under the Big Top’ won Carolina Woman Magazine’s grand prize.

Hats Off to Kate Carey!

Kate Carey's essay, "Ouroboros in a Hula Hoop," appeared in Middle West Press Anthology's “Things We Carry Still.”
