NCWN Welcomes Celeste McMaster as New Membership Coordinator

Celeste McMaster is the new Membership Coordinator for the North Carolina Writers’ Network.

“We were fortunate to have a crowded field of outstanding candidates apply for this position,” NCWN executive director Ed Southern said. “That made the decision a difficult one, but we felt Celeste brought the best combination of skills, experience, and temperament to the role.”

After training this week, McMaster will begin her new job officially on Tuesday, July 18. She also will help with the upcoming Squire Summer Writing Workshops. Members and others can reach her at celeste@ncwriters.org.

Originally from Arkansas, McMaster has lived the majority of her life in the Carolinas.  She earned her PhD from the University of South Carolina, where she specialized in 19th and 20th Century British Literature as well as Creative Writing, and received her MA in English from East Carolina University, where she worked for the North Carolina Literary Review. She has published poetry and fiction in journals such as Arkansas Review, The Dos Passos Review, Fish, Mslexia, New Delta Review, Still, and The Saturday Evening Post

“I am excited and honored to join the Network,” Celeste said.  “As a member for some years, I’ve seen what a rich resource the organization is for writers. I look forward to serving.”
