PBS Becomes Network TV

Leaders of the North Carolina Writers’ Network were featured on PBS North Carolina not once but twice this week.

For Southern Storytellers on PBS, NCWN Board President Annette Saunooke Clapsaddle took NC author David Joy to Kituwah Mound, telling him, “So this is the center of the world. Kituwah is a place where we believe we all came from. This is the most important place for Cherokee.”

For North Carolina Weekend, Network Executive Director Ed Southern and Executive Director of the Weymouth Center for the Arts & Humanities Katie Wyatt discussed the North Carolina Literary Hall of Fame and the history of the Weymouth Center in Southern Pines.

Since 2008, the Network and the Weymouth Center have collaborated with North Carolina Humanities and the North Carolina Collection of the Wilson Library at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to produce the induction ceremony and to promote the NC Literary Hall of Fame and North Carolina’s literary heritage.
