Sayed to Step Down as NCWN Membership Coordinator

After nearly six years as the Network’s Membership Coordinator, Deonna Kelli Sayed will step down at the end of June.

Through some of the Network’s most tumultuous times, Sayed has been most members’ main point of contact with the organization.

“Deonna has provided a warm and hospitable welcome to hundreds of writers new to the Network and, sometimes, to writing itself,” said NCWN Executive Director Ed Southern. “We’re going to miss working with her, but more importantly, members are going to miss talking with her.”

Sayed is leaving the Network staff to take a full-time position with a Triad-based nonprofit.

She will not be leaving the Network, though. She will continue in her role as Greater Greensboro Regional Rep, and as the volunteer leader of PEN America’s Piedmont Region Chapter.

“We’re glad and grateful that Deonna will remain a vital part of the Writingest State,” Southern said.
